G R Anand

Born into a humble family, Anand completed his schooling and graduation at Don Bosco & Loyola, Chennai and went on to take up Gemology course with GIA (USA).He then joined the jewellery business following the footsteps of his father Shri.G.Rajendran – a visionary, to spear the organization to the next level along with his brother Shri. G.R. Radhakrishnan. He subsequently accomplished an Owner/President Management Programme at Harvard, USA.  
GRT Jewellers has now risen to a monumental height of 59 large showrooms across South India and one at Singapore.  Started in 1964, GRT is considered the most trusted jewellery destination and an auspicious household name in South India.  Anand, along with his brother and the team at GRT strives continuously to make GRT Jewellers more and more accessible to customers across the globe.
GRT group has successfully diversified into hospitality and has around 21 properties across 5, 4 & 3 Star categories, Resorts and Serviced Apartments. The group has also made its significant presence in the education sector with colleges in different streams like Engineering, Nursing, Pharma, Health Inspector, B.Ed, M.Ed, MBA, Matriculation and CBSE schools.The recent development has been the group’s foray into renewable energy Industry through Solar & Windmill power generation, NBFC sector and Warehousing.
Anand, as an individual loves to travel extensively both within and outside India to widen his horizon.  As a leader, Anand provides ample participation opportunities to people in the team and encourages every member’s opinion.  This style of leadership helps him achieve a highly motivated team.  Anand actively participates in Professional forums of likeminded entrepreneurs.
